SECURITY COMPANY BECOMES SUSTAINABLE

February 2022.

Local security company and most recent beneficiary of Boshof Solar Power’s enterprise development programme, Kaneng Security Services, is on route to becoming a sustainable SMME. This fledgling entity recently received a business vehicle and is also set to benefit from further beneficiary funding and training.

“Along with the support received from Boshof Solar Power, a lot of my dreams, ambitions and plans for the future have come true. I look forward to growing our company to be able to provide further support to our employees,” said Johnson Kaneng, owner of Kaneng Security Services.

As the employer of seven local workers, the business is expected to be able to provide additional jobs as the business grows and is hoping to soon move into more secure premises.

“Our programme aims to assist SMME’s to grow and develop into sustainable businesses by offering mentoring, skills training and suitable financial support. Their sustainability means job creation and contribution to the economy of Tokologo Local municipality,” commented Zuki Ndlela, Economic Development Specialist for Boshof Solar Power.

The next step in the solar plant’s support of the company is the provision of a container, which is to be used as an office for the business and thereby create a physical presence in their community.

The programme looks to empower small enterprises within the Tokologo Municipality’s communities of Boshof and Hertzogville. A number of rural micro enterprises in a range of industries, including agriculture have already benefited from this developmental programme, which looks to grow sustainable entities.

“Mr Kaneng’s determination to grow his business and forge ahead, despite obstacles, is very commendable. We are pleased that he has already secured a solid service agreement. This is in addition to branding and registering his company, as well as supplying his employees with uniforms to increase visibility,” concluded Zuki.
